Any family members can mediate but often it is separating/divorcing couples. Children can also contribute their voice through a child mediator.

 

How does it compare to legal options?

Mediation is usually significantly cheaper and quicker than resolving disputes through solicitors/courts. Average saving £2,148 and approximately a quarter of the time*

 

Can I mediate if we have already started court proceedings?

Yes you can start at any time.

 

How many sessions will we need?

This depends on the topics to be discussed and how easily you find areas of agreement. Packages are available for a series of sessions.

What if we don’t want to be in the same room?

Mediation works best if you can discuss together. Mediators can support you to do this but if this is not possible you could consider shuttle mediation (from separate rooms).
